概念隐喻是一种具身的思维模式。法律概念隐喻也是基于人类的具身体验在法律语境中的认知联想而形成的一种思维方式,突显了认知的具身性。英汉法律文本中的概念隐喻因具身认知的共性和差异而呈现一致性和差异性。隐喻翻译的研究成果颇为丰富,但鲜有对法律概念隐喻翻译的具身性研究。本文基于具身认知观,通过英汉翻译实例,研究法律英语概念隐喻的具身性,探讨其翻译策略和翻译方法,以期拓展认知翻译学的应用研究。

  • Conceptual metaphor is a way of thinking deriving from the bodied experience. Conceptual metaphor in legal texts is also a way of thinking via cognitive association of embodied experience in legal context. Many previous researches have been done on metaphor translation,but little has been done on the translation of conceptual metaphors in legal texts from the perspective of embodied cognition. This paper studies the embodiment of cognition of conceptual metaphors in legal English and probes into the translation strategies and methods by illustrating English-Chinese translation. In doing so,the author of the paper hopes that what is presented can somehow enrich the applied research of cognitive translatology.
